Some Toxic Chemicals in “Food” you Eat

inkiesI hate to use the word conspiracy but I just can’t come up with a better term to describe what is happening to cause the poor health epidemic in the USA.
The media tells us that we are lazy junk food guzzling idiots, but they will never report that their advertisers are causing this epidemic by what they put into so called “food” Here are examples of what is going on with the prepared food supply.
Coke-cola and has to be at the top of the list but they are probably not the worst. A can of Coke (12 fl ounces/355 ml) has 39 grams of carbohydrates (all from sugar, approximately 10 teaspoons), 50 mg of sodium, 0 grams fat, 0 grams potassium, and 140 calories. I got these figures from Wikipedia but they are wrong on one thing. Coke and soft drink manufactures rarely use sugar; they use High Fructose Corn Syrup almost exclusively, which is worse than sugar for causing obesity.
I do want you to observe that 50 mg of sodium that is in Coke. What does sodium mean? SALT! Why is salt put into soft drinks, to make you thirstier and make you drink more soft drinks? This is the conspiracy.
Why is there so much high fructose corn syrup? To cover up the taste of salt! What was New Coke (the marketing ploy that failed)? Increased salt and more HFCS! If coke had never announced the plot to change the formula and if they had changed the formula gradually, no one would have ever known what they had done.

Do you put dimethylpolysiloxane, an anti-foaming agent made of silicone, in your chicken dishes?
How about tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), a chemical preservative so deadly that just five grams can kill you?
These are just two of the ingredients in a McDonalds Chicken McNugget. Only 50 percent of a McNugget is actually chicken. The other 50 percent includes corn derivatives, sugars, leavening agents and completely synthetic ingredients.
Organic Authority helpfully transcribed the full ingredients list provided by McDonalds:
“White boneless chicken, water, food starch-modified, salt, seasoning (autolyzed yeast extract, salt, wheat starch, natural flavoring (botanical source), safflower oil, dextrose, citric acid, rosemary), sodium phosphates, seasoning (canola oil, mono- and diglycerides, extractives of rosemary).
Battered and breaded with: water, enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), yellow corn flour, food starch-modified, salt, leavening (baking soda, sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate, calcium lactate), spices, wheat starch, whey, corn starch.
Prepared in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness). Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.”
All of the above is bad but just the vegetable oils (Canola, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil) are terrible because these oils are all genetically engineered and they are all trans fatty acids. This is why all chicken prepared in grocery stores and fast food chicken outlets is unhealthy to eat under any circumstances.
How about desert? How about a Twinkie? Here is a report that I got from the internet. Actually I have read the book but this is a short summary of the book by the author.

This got my attention. However, it only got worse when I discovered that the ingredients come from phosphate mines in Idaho, gypsum mines in Oklahoma, and oil fields in China. Okay, so now I was wondering if I was watching a real news story—come to find out, I was.
The Twinkie, which was created during the Depression, contains thirty-nine ingredients. One of those ingredients is a preservative, sorbic acid. Sorbic acid is an ingredient I see on many packages, and I have never thought twice about it. But author Steve Ettlinger did. He found that sorbic acid is actually derived from natural gas.
If that isn’t shocking enough, he goes on to talk about other ingredients like cellulose gum, Polysorbate 60, and calcium sulfate. Apparently, these ingredients are also used in sheet rock, shampoo, and rocket fuel. No wonder Twinkies make kids run around like crazy and have even been used as a defense for murder!
Mr. Ettlinger also found that the vitamins, artificial colors, and flavorings in Twinkies come from petroleum.
I started to wonder how this tasty treat made from gas and rocks can be so light and airy. In comes Mr. Ettlinger again. Apparently, it’s limestone that makes Twinkies light. And that tasty cream center—it’s got to be milk, right? No. It’s made of shortening; there is absolutely no cream in the cream.
I have to say I was curious to know what Hostess, the makers of the Twinkie, thought about Mr. Ettlinger’s claims. Well, here’s the quote that ran in my newscast:
Deconstructing the Twinkie is like trying to deconstruct the universe. We think the millions of people … would agree that Twinkies just taste great.—David Leavitt, Vice President Snack Marketing at Hostess.
The news story was inspired by Steve Ettlinger’s new book, Twinkie Deconstructed. Ettlinger uses the Twinkie to demonstrate where our processed food ingredients come from. Since the Twinkie is the product leader—yes, it’s a product and apparently, barely a food—it served as the perfect tool to show consumers what goes into our food.
The above are three “foods” that unsuspecting people consume that cause poor health.
The manufactures of these “foods” do not want you to know what their chemicals are doing to cause you to suffer poor health. The above products cause colds and flu in all age groups because they compromise your immune system. The colds and flu problems are all on the “short run” but the more insidious problems are on the long run. The long run problems are heart disease, stroke, cancer, obesity, diabetes and infections from mycoplasmas that cause neuro-degenerative and degenerative diseases like ALS, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome, Crohn’s disease, fibromyalgia, and many other chronic diseases.
You might say “I don’t care cause you have to die of something” and that is your right to be stupid but you deserve to know what is causing people to be sick and die before their time. You need to know that drug corporations, doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, food manufactures, agriculture producers, chemical corporations, don’t want you to be healthy so they can get “fat” off your misfortune.
Everyone has the right to make a choice but your government and corporations conspire to keep you in the dark about “food” knowing that you will suffer yourself or through a family member of friend.
My job as a reporter and author is to inform the public about what is wrong in their food supply so that you can make an intelligent choice with the food you eat.
It is your right to do and eat as you wish (smoking, toxic food, etc.), but it should be my right to eat healthy, be informed, and not be taxed to pay for you heart attack, cancer, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and chronic diseases that are preventable.
Instead of the Obama “sick care” program that is not right or fair, people should pay a tax on all processed “foods”, cigarettes, etc. with the money going into a special fund to provide for illness treatment from allopathic doctors.
Doctors should also be paid more to help you be healthy instead of being rewarded for getting you on drugs and not helping you be well.

Let’s get rid of GMO’s, Genetically Modified Organisms – Franken Foods

Genetically Modified Organisms are dangerous to your health.

Please watch this video and pass it on to your friends and relatives. Please help this go viral. Please respond to this like your life depends on this – because GMO’s are that serious and your life and that of your kids and grandkids does depend on you taking action.

10-10-10 has started. This is the start of informing people and convincing them that their dollars count when “voting” for healthy food.

The people in Europe did this about 10 years ago. They told food manufacturers, agriculture corporations and their governments that they did not want to eat GMO’s- Genetically Engineered organisms, GE -genetically engineered, or Frankenfoods. And they still don’t have GMO’s even though our government has tried to force them into eating and accepting GMO’s/ Frankenfoods.

It is time to speak up and tell Walmart, Kroger, Randall’s, HEB, Albertson’s, Publix and all the other grocery stores that you don’t want to eat unhealthy food any longer. Tell them that GMO’s are causing sterility and allergies in horses, dogs and cats. GMO’s are causing allergies that doctors have never seen before in people. Tell them that you don’t want the risk that you, your kids and your grandchildren may be sterile or have low fertility. How many men and women go to fertility clinics today because they cannot get pregnant? How many are this way because of GMO’s?

Tell these stores that you don’t want to eat beef, pork or chicken that has been fed GMO’s because these modified genes can cause people to become unhealthy when they eat the genes in the animals and or plants.

Tell them that you don’t want corn, soy, canola, cotton seed oil, sugar beets, crooked neck squash, papaya from Hawaii. All these plants are GMO.

10-10-10 is significant because this is the kick off from Jeffery Smith and the “Seeds of Deception” to get 15,000,000 people to reach the tipping point on the non-GMO band wagon. We have 11 months to get the job done. Our goal is no GMO food in stores by 11-11-11.

There is already a certification process that guarantees food on shelves is non-GMO. Look for the label in health food stores but let’s push it into all grocery stores.

Please take action. Get involved. It is important for the rest of our lives.

Horses and People: What they have in common

This may seem like a strange topic but you will be surprised when I finish this week’s newsletter.

Judy and I have raised horses for thirty-three years. We had to put our special stallion to sleep last year because of a terminal disease at the age of twenty six. I had an old horse breeder tell me years ago that if a man or woman owned hundreds of horses you would be lucky to have one special horse. Marzan SX was that one special horse and I am sure I will never find another. It was a very sad day when I had to have the vet out to put my friend and riding companion to sleep for the last time.

Horses helped me get to where I am today. That may seem strange but I decided early on that the soil was destroyed (worn out with chemicals and no added minerals or nutrients after years of farming abuse) and our horses were not getting proper nutrition. I decided if they were to eat reasonably well I needed to find as many different feeds as I could from many locations. I bought grass hay from the local area in east Texas, alfalfa from the mid west, corn from Iowa, oats from the northern mid west, wheat bran from the mid west and molasses from south Texas and Louisiana.

Our horses did well both in working and breeding. The grain at that time was non GMO – genetically modified organisms (GE genetically engineered is also another term). We only had one mare with colic in all those years and she recovered quickly. We never had one cold in any of our horses in thirty-three years.

About two months ago, I had a patient who manages a breeding program for a large horse farm in our area. Her father had been a vet and she had scrubbed and assisted her father many times when he preformed colic surgery on horses. We had a lot in common over horses and we had a great conversation. In the conversation, I asked her if she noticed an increase in allergies in the horses that she cares for when performing and breeding. She said that they had noticed a large increase in allergies and they had been having more colic than ever before, and during the surgery, she noticed that the horses had more “trash” and undigested grain in the stomachs and intestines.

This past week I went to the feed store and they gave me a copy of a new horse magazine. I leafed through the pictures and articles and stopped and read an article from Texas A & M vet clinic. The latest problems with horses in the last few years are low fertility and sterility.

Two vets at Texas A & M have come up with a new research program investigating how to test for fertility. So, in the coming years, they will test for fertility for breeding instead of performance and conformation traits.

My question is why don’t they investigate what is causing the lower fertility and sterility?

The problem with Land Grant Colleges and Universities today is that their agriculture programs are bought and paid for by multinational seed and ag chemical corporations. These corporations pay universities lots of money to support their graduate programs and, in return, the research has to return the answers that the corporations want to bolster their sales with some credibility of a second party. If the university research gets conflicting results, the research and findings are destroyed and never published. This is what I refer to as fuzzy science and it is practiced by all types of corporations in this day and age. It is done by food and drug corporations on a routine basis.

We can only guess at the moment, but with research done by credible scientists investigating GMO or GE grains/food, they are finding that animals fed GMO foods become infertile, less fertile and with smaller testicles in a matter of weeks (not months or years). A university like   A&M is not going to cast dispersion on the corporations that help to keep their doors open to train students. Because of this, the professors are ignoring research that might tell us the cause of horse fertility issues (there has been no mention of mare (female) fertility problems.

I am suggesting that horse people should stop feeding genetically engineered grains to their horses until honest studies can be done by honest researchers who do not work or get paid by the corporation creating the products.

Besides horse feeds from the following list, we need to do the same for people food.

This list is not quite complete because new GE products are coming out almost weekly.

  • Soy products including oil – 95 % of all soy is GE
  • Corn products – 75 to 80 % of all corn is GE – oil, grain, and particularly High Fructose Corn Syrup which is not the same as cane sugar
  • Canola oil – 100 % GE
  • Cotton seed oil – 100 % GE.
  • Crooked neck squash
  • Hawaiian papaya
  • Alfalfa
  • Sugar beets (regular sugar is made from this and cane)

 

Now you are wondering how this affects people.

About two years ago, a report by the government came out and reported that the teenage illegitimate births were down by 25 %. The Republicans jumped on this and said that teaching abstinence in the schools was working. The Democrats said that giving out condoms in school was working. At the end of the article, it was reported that the conception rate among teenagers was down because twenty five % of our kids are sterile.

With GE products in most processed foods, it seems that we need studies to find out if the cause of infertility in teenagers and adults (there is a whole new industry that has developed in the last 25 years because of all the adults that can’t conceive)( in all fairness there have been thousands of chemicals put into processed foods in the last 30 to 40 years besides the GE products in the last 15 years) is being caused by man-made products that we may need to eliminate from our “food’ system.

As most of you know, I have said for years that we need to get back to buying local foods in season from people we know and trust and no processed foods.

Here is hoping that the horse may help us become more healthful.
