Are You COOL?

If you think COOL has something to do with the weather or how you or your child dresses, you are in for a big surprise.

COOL stands for Country of Origin Labeling. The USA government and industry came up with this labeling to snooker the public when it comes to food.

Do you know what snooker means? This is just an old way of telling you that someone is lying or misleading you. US manufacturers and the government do not want us – you and I – to know the truth when it comes to food. Through the COOL program, there is a misinformation campaign to keep us from knowing about all the chemicals that are fed to or injected into animals in the USA before and after death. They also don’t want you to know how toxic the soil is where plants are grown. Also, they don’t want you to know about the toxic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.

There is not any place on earth that has more chemicals in their food supply than the USA and Canada. These two countries have been bought and paid for by corporate USA and the respective governments.

The official party line is that other countries use toxic chemicals and their chemicals will poison the food and the people who eat the food. This is simply not true.

Let’s take beef first in this discussion. In the USA, cattle get 6 to 8 hormones before they are slaughtered. In countries like Brazil, they get none. In the USA, they get antibiotics to try and hold down the infections while they are crowded together in a feedlot where they poop on each other everyday for about 5 months. In countries like Brazil, they get no antibiotics because they are out on a pasture eating healthy grass that builds their immune system while having the sunshine disinfect their eating and sleeping areas. In the USA, they are sometimes fed baking soda to keep them from exploding from all the gas in their guts caused by eating grains that are unhealthy and unnatural for cows to eat. In countries like Brazil, this is not necessary because they only eat healthy grass. In the USA, we dare not eat the liver of a cow because of all the abscesses caused by the unnatural grains fed in a feedlot. This is not a problem in countries like Brazil. The liver is the filtration system for mammals and if there are chemicals and diseases, like abscesses, then people should not eat the liver.

After the cow is processed in the USA, the meat is injected with a solution of water, MSG, High Fructose Corn Syrup and salt to cover up the lousy taste. This is not a problem with beef from a country like Brazil.

In the USA, the animals are fed grains that are grown on poor soil with toxic chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. This does not happen in countries like Brazil because they use no chemicals. In the USA, the cows are fed GMO – Genetically Modified Organisms – that are toxic to the point of making the animals sterile. With the damage done to the cows, the meat also passes these toxins on to people to make them sub-fertile or sterile. This is not a problem with beef coming from countries like Brazil.

You be the judge. Do you want to eat beef from the USA or from a country like Brazil? I welcome the COOL label and if a big ole steak says Brazil and not the USA USDA, I will buy the steak from Brazil and pass on the one from the USA.

This same scenario happens with pork, chicken, vegetables and fruit. There are a few places in other countries where they use human waste for fertilizers, but our farmers are doing the same thing, although here it is called sludge. The human waste is normally composted so the risk of disease is small, but here in the USA, the sludge contains heavy metals from industry, drugs from people excreting them out of their bodies or from being poured down the drains of households or hospitals. My favorite waste that people put in their mouths is micronized toilet paper. This comes from rivers and lakes. The toilet paper used in bathrooms gets into waste water and it is impossible to filter out before it goes back into the environment. This was told by an EPA person in Orlando, Florida several years ago.

So, what are people to do since it seems like the government and corporations are against them?

Buy local food from people who you can look in the eye to see if they are lying. This applies to meat, vegetables and fruit. If you happen to see a label that is COOL and you recognize that it is USA, then try and avoid the product. If it happens to be from a country like Brazil, then buy it with confidence.

So-called third world countries are not bad as we are led to believe by our government and corporations. Remember that we have one of the poorest health care systems in the world. We rank about 50th in health in the world today. There are a whole lot of third world countries that have people with better health than we have and a lot of the reason they are healthier is because they use far less chemicals than the USA.

Stewardship: How it affects disease

I was at a great seminar this past Thursday and Friday learning about how to breed and/or create outstanding, great tasting, healthy, nutritious cows. We touched on other animals but 99 percent of the seminar was on cows.

Stewardship has many definitions as you can learn on Wikipedia. Historically, stewardship was the responsibility given to household servants to bring food and drinks to a castle dining hall. The term was then expanded to indicate a household employee’s responsibility for managing household or domestic affairs.

The following list is from Wikipedia and I will not discuss all of these forms of stewardship as you can look them up on Wikipedia. I do want to touch on Health Stewardship and Religious Stewardship because I think they are related and not able to be separated.

Contents

We have reached a point in our nation’s history when there are countless things wrong and we, the people, have got to take the responsibility of correcting the wrongs; our government is corrupt and the elected officials will not change anything for the better. Things just keep getting worse.

Food is the most critical because it is solely responsible for our health. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, degenerative diseases like MS, ALS, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, Autism, AD, ADHD and  Crohn’s disease (the list goes on and on) are all caused by poor quality foods and toxic chemicals.  What we need are corporations and people that have integrity to provide healthy food. At this point, most of these people could care less if you or I live or die.

What we need are local people selling local healthy food. The idea that large multinational “food” manufacturers are the only ones that can make safe food is ridiculous. You can’t trust large corporations but you can trust yourself (growing your own food in a garden) and you can get to know people by looking them in their eyes and asking questions.

So where does the stewardship come into play?

Maybe we can also use the word “integrity” in addition to stewardship.

In the seminar I attended, the speaker, Gerald Fry, talked about how we treat the cows. The present system for corporate beef from feed lots takes the baby away from the mother at 205 days before the rumen – stomach – is completely formed for digestion. Cows are supposed to convert grass into a healthy food product for our good health, but if they don’t develop properly, they have to eat grain which is totally unhealthy for them and it destroys the beneficial Omega III fatty acids and the CLA’s that are life sustaining to people.

It seems to me that we ought to do the right thing for cows and people.

My wife and I raise and sell grass-fed, non-chemical healthy beef. If I promise grass-fed, non-chemical beef, then I should deliver on my promise. If I feed grain or chemicals (for parasites) or antibiotics, then I have no integrity and my stewardship to the cow and my customer is gone.

In the course of the seminar, four of us (including the speaker Gerald Fry) told the others that we use no chemicals including vaccines that are toxic chemicals. The theory and in practice, if an animal or person is healthy and they eat healthy to have a strong immune system, they do not need vaccines for diseases and chemicals for parasites. To me and to the others, this is stewardship. It is doing the right thing for everyone – the cow and the people.

Stewardship is also a Biblical thing.

Most of the people at the seminar are very strong Christians and they certainly believe in the Bible. Unfortunately, some people have a hard time separating fuzzy science by food manufacturers, feed lots, Land Grant Universities (that are bought and paid for by drug and chemical corporations) and our government.

On the second day of the seminar, two business partners, one a doctor and the other a feed store owner and ranch manager, decided to jump into the fray with a quick comment that good stewardship on cows involves vaccines and chemical wormers. Not one to be shy, I jumped into the fray with a comment about vaccines not being safe for people or animals.

Whether a person believes vaccines are beneficial or not is not the point. Vaccines have never been proven to work by double-blind placebo controlled studies, but when it comes to people and cows, the concern with vaccines is not if they work. The concern is all the toxic chemicals the drug manufacturers use in the manufacture of vaccines. They use heavy metals like mercury, aluminum and chemicals like aspartame, the artificial sweetener and now they have been caught inserting mycoplasmas, a bacterium without a cell wall that the government has been using in biological warfare agents.

The gentleman, in his comment, brought the Bible into the fray implying that if you did not use chemicals then we were not good stewards in a biblical sense. The truth is that whether you believe in health stewardship or religious stewardship is not important. What is important is faith in doing the right thing. The right thing is making life the best we can in as natural a way as possible for animals and people.

If we do the right thing, stewardship will follow, integrity will not be sacrificed and people and cows will be healthier.

Will Chemical Agriculture and Processed Foods Destroy the USA?

There are all kinds of theories as to why the Roman Empire went downhill but there is no doubt that it did, just like there is no doubt that the USA is going downhill. The USA has had many integrity issues with our government and corporations that has cost us our leadership position in the world. Our economic policy may or may not destroy the economic balance in the world (We are always in debt and never paying out bills. We owe the Chinese billions of dollars with no way of paying them), but there is no doubt that every nation is in economic trouble.

I met my future father-in-law in 1965 and one of our conversations was that the USA was declining just as the Roman Empire had declined. As time goes on I see his predictions coming true.

It is well accepted belief that lead destroyed the Roman Empire. The Romans were way ahead of all nations of their time in engineering. The Romans had running water but they obviously did not have steel, iron or plastics.

The Romans brought water out of mountains and other areas by inventing aqueducts. These were made of clay, and stones and transported massive amounts of water for centuries. But lead was used for plumbing and other products, including lead in wine.

Here is a quote from an article I found on line.

Lead was a key component in face powders, rouges, and mascaras; the pigment in many paints (“crazy as a painter” was an ancient catch phrase rooted in the demented behavior of lead-poisoned painters); a nifty spermicide for informal birth control; the ideal “cold” metal for use in the manufacture of chastity belts; a sweet and sour condiment popular for seasoning and adulterating food; a wine preservative perfect for stopping fermentation or disguising inferior vintages; the malleable and inexpensive ingredient in pewter cups, plates, pitchers, pots and pans, and other household artifacts; the basic component of lead coins; and a partial ingredient in debased bronze or brass coins as well as counterfeit silver and gold coins.

Most important of all was lead’s suitability as inexpensive and reliable piping for the vast network plumbing that kept Rome and the provincial cities of the Roman Empire supplied with water. Indeed, the very word “plumbing” comes from the Latin word for lead, plumbum. The lead pipes that were the vital arteries of ancient Rome were forged by smithies whose patron saint, Vulcan, exhibited several of the symptoms of advanced lead poisoning: lameness, pallor, and wizened expression.

Addicted to Lead

The Romans were aware that lead could cause serious health problems, even madness and death. However, they were so fond of its diverse uses that they minimized the hazards it posed. Romans of yesteryear, like Americans of today, equated limited exposure to lead with limited risk. What they did not realize was that their everyday low-level exposure to the metal rendered them vulnerable to chronic lead poisoning, even while it spared them the full horrors of acute lead poisoning.

Roman aristocrats, who regarded labor of any sort as beneath their dignity, lived oblivious to the human wreckage on which their ruinous diet of lead depended. They would never dream of drinking wine except from a golden cup, but they thought nothing of washing down platters of lead-seasoned food with gallons of lead-adulterated wine.

The result, according to many modern scholars, was the death by slow poisoning of the greatest empire the world has ever known. Symptoms of “plumbism” or lead poisoning were already apparent as early as the first century B.C. Julius Caesar for all his sexual ramblings was unable to beget more than one known offspring. Caesar Augustus, his successor, displayed not only total sterility but also a cold indifference to sex.

The first century A.D. was a time of unbridled gluttony and drunkenness among the ruling oligarchs of Rome. The lead concealed in the food and wine they devoured undoubtedly had a great deal to do with the outbreak of unprecedented epidemics of saturnine gout and sterility among aristocratic males and the alarming rate of infertility and stillbirths among aristocratic women.

Still more alarming was the conspicuous pattern of mental incompetence that came to be synonymous with the Roman elite. This creeping cretinism manifested itself most frighteningly in such clearly degenerate emperors as Caligula, Nero, and Commodus. It is said that Nero wore a breastplate of lead, ostensibly to strengthen his voice, as he fiddled and sang while Rome burned.

The point of all this is that the people who ran Rome/Empire were poisoned with lead that affected their minds and the thinking process. Through the years their integrity towards each other declined like we see in this former great nation. The standards of decency have declined in a similar fashion to the Roman Empire.

Today we still have avarice and greed just like in the Roman Empire, both in government and corporations but today the cause is not due to the toxicities of lead, and unlike in Roman the mental decline is not just the rich but it extends down to all the people including the poor.

Today the cause of disease and mental decline is in the food, the water and the air. One of the biggest causes of mental decline in the USA is fluoride in the water. This causes “dumbing down” and depression. Fluoride reduces the lithium in the body, which results in depression. As an aside, if you have depression from fluoride and you take the drug Prozac, which has 3 molecules of fluoride in its chemical formula, you depression will get worse and can lead to violence.

One of the biggest scams today is statin drugs for cholesterol that is supposed to prevent heart disease. The truth is that cholesterol has nothing to do with heart disease and the statin drugs cause a loss of thinking ability – dumbing down of all who take it. I would venture a guess that more than 50 % of the people in power or authority today in the USA is on a statin drug.

The solution to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and degenerative diseases is the elimination of sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and most carbohydrates.

To be fair we also need to have healthy unadulterated food in the food supply. We don’t have lead like the Romans but we have chemical agriculture with toxic chemical fertilizers with heavy metals, lead being just one, along with herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides. We also have plastics in the food and drugs in the water supply. We have toxins in the air we breathe. We have poor food adulterated with chemicals to trick our taste buds into thinking we are eating something good when we are eating toxins.

Is our leadership, empire building, intrusive interfering of other nations business, greed/avarice and downright dishonesty caused by a decline in thinking due to chemicals and poor food?

I don’t have all the answers but it looks like our decline is reminiscent of the lead poisoning of the Roman Empire. Can we change? I doubt it because greed at a corporate level is no easier to stop than greed on and individual level.

I think the best we can do is take care of our individual areas and try to lead a healthful life while helping other likeminded people in our area. This means healthy local food, detoxification, filtration of water and avoid air pollution as much as possible.
