Are You COOL?

If you think COOL has something to do with the weather or how you or your child dresses, you are in for a big surprise.

COOL stands for Country of Origin Labeling. The USA government and industry came up with this labeling to snooker the public when it comes to food.

Do you know what snooker means? This is just an old way of telling you that someone is lying or misleading you. US manufacturers and the government do not want us – you and I – to know the truth when it comes to food. Through the COOL program, there is a misinformation campaign to keep us from knowing about all the chemicals that are fed to or injected into animals in the USA before and after death. They also don’t want you to know how toxic the soil is where plants are grown. Also, they don’t want you to know about the toxic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.

There is not any place on earth that has more chemicals in their food supply than the USA and Canada. These two countries have been bought and paid for by corporate USA and the respective governments.

The official party line is that other countries use toxic chemicals and their chemicals will poison the food and the people who eat the food. This is simply not true.

Let’s take beef first in this discussion. In the USA, cattle get 6 to 8 hormones before they are slaughtered. In countries like Brazil, they get none. In the USA, they get antibiotics to try and hold down the infections while they are crowded together in a feedlot where they poop on each other everyday for about 5 months. In countries like Brazil, they get no antibiotics because they are out on a pasture eating healthy grass that builds their immune system while having the sunshine disinfect their eating and sleeping areas. In the USA, they are sometimes fed baking soda to keep them from exploding from all the gas in their guts caused by eating grains that are unhealthy and unnatural for cows to eat. In countries like Brazil, this is not necessary because they only eat healthy grass. In the USA, we dare not eat the liver of a cow because of all the abscesses caused by the unnatural grains fed in a feedlot. This is not a problem in countries like Brazil. The liver is the filtration system for mammals and if there are chemicals and diseases, like abscesses, then people should not eat the liver.

After the cow is processed in the USA, the meat is injected with a solution of water, MSG, High Fructose Corn Syrup and salt to cover up the lousy taste. This is not a problem with beef from a country like Brazil.

In the USA, the animals are fed grains that are grown on poor soil with toxic chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. This does not happen in countries like Brazil because they use no chemicals. In the USA, the cows are fed GMO – Genetically Modified Organisms – that are toxic to the point of making the animals sterile. With the damage done to the cows, the meat also passes these toxins on to people to make them sub-fertile or sterile. This is not a problem with beef coming from countries like Brazil.

You be the judge. Do you want to eat beef from the USA or from a country like Brazil? I welcome the COOL label and if a big ole steak says Brazil and not the USA USDA, I will buy the steak from Brazil and pass on the one from the USA.

This same scenario happens with pork, chicken, vegetables and fruit. There are a few places in other countries where they use human waste for fertilizers, but our farmers are doing the same thing, although here it is called sludge. The human waste is normally composted so the risk of disease is small, but here in the USA, the sludge contains heavy metals from industry, drugs from people excreting them out of their bodies or from being poured down the drains of households or hospitals. My favorite waste that people put in their mouths is micronized toilet paper. This comes from rivers and lakes. The toilet paper used in bathrooms gets into waste water and it is impossible to filter out before it goes back into the environment. This was told by an EPA person in Orlando, Florida several years ago.

So, what are people to do since it seems like the government and corporations are against them?

Buy local food from people who you can look in the eye to see if they are lying. This applies to meat, vegetables and fruit. If you happen to see a label that is COOL and you recognize that it is USA, then try and avoid the product. If it happens to be from a country like Brazil, then buy it with confidence.

So-called third world countries are not bad as we are led to believe by our government and corporations. Remember that we have one of the poorest health care systems in the world. We rank about 50th in health in the world today. There are a whole lot of third world countries that have people with better health than we have and a lot of the reason they are healthier is because they use far less chemicals than the USA.

America does not have a shortage of doctors, it has an excess of disease

I took this title from Mike Adams “The Health Ranger”. My spin is a little different than Mike’s, but he and this title are correct.

I contend that we did not get a health bill but a sick bill. The idea of the bill was to bring 40,000,000 people into the system who were not officially covered by health insurance. This is not quite true, because if these uninsured people showed up on the doorsteps of a Parkland-like hospital in Dallas, TX, (substitute free clinic/hospital name in your area), they would get their babies delivered for free, emergency appendectomy, hernia repair, heart treatment, etc. free.

What these people did not get free was antibiotics for their flu or cold (which is not the correct treatment anyway); they did not get statin drugs for high cholesterol to prevent heart disease (cholesterol does not cause heart disease but statin drugs are a billion dollar income source for drug corporations and they cause many health problems including death); they did not get drugs for many diseases that are nutritional disorders (so they don’t have massive drug side effects and other complications).

I have a friend who has “good benefits” from her job and her husband’s job. The doctors have no idea what is wrong with her because they have her on 22 different drugs. No one should be on 22 medications. Her doctors are incompetent. The 40,000,000 people are fortunate that they don’t have these benefits, but our “sick care program” will take care of them in the near future so that these poor, unfortunate people can have the same advantages of my friend – the system is going to kill them and, at the end, the doctors will just say, “We did our best but medicine can’t cure some things”.

Medicine can’t cure squat. Heart disease is worse than 50 years ago and it is getting worse. Cancer was 3 % of deaths 100 years ago and now ranks as the number one killer; 50 years ago it hardly showed up in children and, today, it is the fastest growing cancer in this nation. Type II diabetes did not exist 100 years ago and now it is rampant. Eighteen years ago, autism was found in one of every 10,000 kids and now it is one out of every eighty or so kids.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Modern medicine is fantastic when it comes to emergency health care but a dismal failure when it comes to everyday health of the people. The US is about number 50 in the world – many third world nations have better health than we and we let our corporations go into these countries to “help” them. Our corporations (drug, chemical, industrial food manufacturers, etc) are just exploiting them so they are raped of money and their health decreased to our level.

As Mike says in his article, if we improve the health of the people we will have an oversupply of doctors and not a shortage.

How can we do this – improve the health of the people without using drugs and surgery. Mike’s suggestion is to give every person, man, woman and child a free supplement of vitamin D 3 everyday (dose adjusted for size), and I agree that this would really help, but it is not enough.

My suggestion is to go to the next step in preventing disease. Stop or reduce all sugar and high fructose corn syrup. One hundred years ago the average person ate 6 pounds of sugar per year and there was little disease. Today, the average person eats 175 pounds of mostly high fructose corn syrup every year and all disease is rampant. Most of the sweeteners that people consume are not their fault as they don’t know they are eating or drinking this toxic poison. They don’t understand that this causes high blood pressure, cancer, heart disease, obesity, type II diabetes, degenerations and depressive conditions. People don’t realize that “food” corporations put these sugars into food to make them addicted to drinks and processed foods just to make money and if the people get sick or die along the way “the corporations don’t care”.

I know this is not an easy task and will not happen overnight, but we have to have goals and we need to get rid of doctors with the sorry excuse “we don’t know what caused your poor health”. They don’t know because they don’t know or they don’t want the people to know so they can continue making massive amounts of money.

Reducing sugar is a goal and difficult to do, but in the meantime, lets tax the “devil” out of all products with sugars and high fructose corn syrup and put the money into the new “sick care” program. If I eat little to no sweeteners to be healthy (and consume vitamin D 3 and sunshine), why should I have to pay for the people with poor health. I am suggesting that people who consume sweeteners pay an inflated tax to pay for their illnesses in later years and those of us who want to be healthy do not have to pay their bills.

Taxing sugars and HFCS in food will be easy to administer and collect, but can we trust the government to put the money in the right fund. I doubt this as they stole money out of Social Security to pay for the Cold War and ICBM’s – a war that was started by our military industrial complex – look at President Eisenhower’s warning in 1960.

Remember to take care of yourself because the government and our doctors will not do it for you.

Horses and People: What they have in common

This may seem like a strange topic but you will be surprised when I finish this week’s newsletter.

Judy and I have raised horses for thirty-three years. We had to put our special stallion to sleep last year because of a terminal disease at the age of twenty six. I had an old horse breeder tell me years ago that if a man or woman owned hundreds of horses you would be lucky to have one special horse. Marzan SX was that one special horse and I am sure I will never find another. It was a very sad day when I had to have the vet out to put my friend and riding companion to sleep for the last time.

Horses helped me get to where I am today. That may seem strange but I decided early on that the soil was destroyed (worn out with chemicals and no added minerals or nutrients after years of farming abuse) and our horses were not getting proper nutrition. I decided if they were to eat reasonably well I needed to find as many different feeds as I could from many locations. I bought grass hay from the local area in east Texas, alfalfa from the mid west, corn from Iowa, oats from the northern mid west, wheat bran from the mid west and molasses from south Texas and Louisiana.

Our horses did well both in working and breeding. The grain at that time was non GMO – genetically modified organisms (GE genetically engineered is also another term). We only had one mare with colic in all those years and she recovered quickly. We never had one cold in any of our horses in thirty-three years.

About two months ago, I had a patient who manages a breeding program for a large horse farm in our area. Her father had been a vet and she had scrubbed and assisted her father many times when he preformed colic surgery on horses. We had a lot in common over horses and we had a great conversation. In the conversation, I asked her if she noticed an increase in allergies in the horses that she cares for when performing and breeding. She said that they had noticed a large increase in allergies and they had been having more colic than ever before, and during the surgery, she noticed that the horses had more “trash” and undigested grain in the stomachs and intestines.

This past week I went to the feed store and they gave me a copy of a new horse magazine. I leafed through the pictures and articles and stopped and read an article from Texas A & M vet clinic. The latest problems with horses in the last few years are low fertility and sterility.

Two vets at Texas A & M have come up with a new research program investigating how to test for fertility. So, in the coming years, they will test for fertility for breeding instead of performance and conformation traits.

My question is why don’t they investigate what is causing the lower fertility and sterility?

The problem with Land Grant Colleges and Universities today is that their agriculture programs are bought and paid for by multinational seed and ag chemical corporations. These corporations pay universities lots of money to support their graduate programs and, in return, the research has to return the answers that the corporations want to bolster their sales with some credibility of a second party. If the university research gets conflicting results, the research and findings are destroyed and never published. This is what I refer to as fuzzy science and it is practiced by all types of corporations in this day and age. It is done by food and drug corporations on a routine basis.

We can only guess at the moment, but with research done by credible scientists investigating GMO or GE grains/food, they are finding that animals fed GMO foods become infertile, less fertile and with smaller testicles in a matter of weeks (not months or years). A university like   A&M is not going to cast dispersion on the corporations that help to keep their doors open to train students. Because of this, the professors are ignoring research that might tell us the cause of horse fertility issues (there has been no mention of mare (female) fertility problems.

I am suggesting that horse people should stop feeding genetically engineered grains to their horses until honest studies can be done by honest researchers who do not work or get paid by the corporation creating the products.

Besides horse feeds from the following list, we need to do the same for people food.

This list is not quite complete because new GE products are coming out almost weekly.

  • Soy products including oil – 95 % of all soy is GE
  • Corn products – 75 to 80 % of all corn is GE – oil, grain, and particularly High Fructose Corn Syrup which is not the same as cane sugar
  • Canola oil – 100 % GE
  • Cotton seed oil – 100 % GE.
  • Crooked neck squash
  • Hawaiian papaya
  • Alfalfa
  • Sugar beets (regular sugar is made from this and cane)


Now you are wondering how this affects people.

About two years ago, a report by the government came out and reported that the teenage illegitimate births were down by 25 %. The Republicans jumped on this and said that teaching abstinence in the schools was working. The Democrats said that giving out condoms in school was working. At the end of the article, it was reported that the conception rate among teenagers was down because twenty five % of our kids are sterile.

With GE products in most processed foods, it seems that we need studies to find out if the cause of infertility in teenagers and adults (there is a whole new industry that has developed in the last 25 years because of all the adults that can’t conceive)( in all fairness there have been thousands of chemicals put into processed foods in the last 30 to 40 years besides the GE products in the last 15 years) is being caused by man-made products that we may need to eliminate from our “food’ system.

As most of you know, I have said for years that we need to get back to buying local foods in season from people we know and trust and no processed foods.

Here is hoping that the horse may help us become more healthful.
