Can we Lose Weight or get rid of Diabetes without Changing Anything?

The resounding answer to this question is a big NO!

We all see things on TV and other media along with the internet and the message is the same, if you buy our product we can help you get rid of diabetes without changing your eating habits.

Folks this “ain’t” ever going to work. If you have cancer, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, Autism, learning problems, Crohn’s disease, or anything else (most people can recover from these problems if they change their lives) there is an excellent chance your body can heal itself if you change everything in your life. The first thing is changing your food from sugar, grains, potatoes, vegetable oil, MSG, HFCS, toxins in water, and air pollution (in door).

After all this is said the point of this newsletter is that I have found a new product with some research technology from 2008 that appears to let people lose about 28 pounds in 10 weeks by drinking a healthy water infusion fruit extraction in a non-toxic bottle. The product is not expensive and it tastes great.

I am including the article about the African Mango/Irvingia extract that is put into the Reign water from Beyond Organic. The information is excellent and information from Jordan Rubin that owns Beyond Organic is also outstanding.

As usual I do not recommend anything that I have not done so I have ordered our fruit infusion and of course I do not eat any processed foods or sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup. You can check out the products on my website www.drbobod.mybeyondorganic.com

Information on Reign Fruit Infusion to lose weight

This is clinical trial information that you can look up or read below on the African Mango.  The weight loss benefits are in the studies.

The Reign Fruit Infusion drink from Beyond Organic www.drbobod.mybeyondorganic.com has the same amount of African Mango/Irvingia in it as was used in this study (150 mg).

If you or family and friends are trying to lose weight I would suggest that you try this product. Take 2 bottles a day on an empty stomach and see how it works for you and others. The results look pretty impressive.

Please let me know if any of you need any questions answered.

African Mango: What if you found out that there was a super food that when tested on humans was found to help the average person lose an average of 28 pounds in 10-weeks?

In a controlled study published in the Journal of Nutrition 2008,

people taking this new compound lost 28 pounds over a 10-week

period compared to less than 3 pounds in the placebo group.

Different than other weight loss studies that mandate at least

some moderation in food intake, these study participants did not

alter their diet in any way. What is this super compound you might ask?

It’s called Irvingia and it’s found in African Mango. This new compound has shown better weight loss results than any hormone, drug, or food in medical history! Irvingia works in 4 Fantastic ways:

First, it works with adiponectin to increase insulin sensitivity

Second, it balances the hormone Leptin which signals your

brain to burn fat

Third, decreases amount of blood glucose that turns into fat

Fourth, it blocks the enzyme amylase from digesting starches

that would have become sugar.

In the 2 most popular clinical studies done on Irvingia (African mango) 150mg was taken twice daily and participants lost 12.8 pounds in 4 weeks and 28 pounds in 10 weeks.

The highest quality product that contains African Mango and that is easily obtained and easily consumed is Reign Fruit

Infusion drink made by Beyond Organic.

Clinical Studies:

African Mango
After 10 weeks on 150 milligrams of African mango twice a day, patients weighed 23.32 lbs pounds less than patients given placebo. The African mango group lost 5.1 inches in waist circumference and lost 4.4% more body fat than placebo group. Total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol values were also decreased.

IGOB131, a novel seed extract of the West African plant Irvingia gabonensis, significantly reduces body weight and improves metabolic parameters in overweight humans in a randomized double-blind placebo controlled investigation. Lipids in Health and Disease. 2009;(8):7.

After one month of 1.05 grams of African mango three times a day, patients lost 8.8 pounds, 1.8 inches of hip size and 2.4 inches of waist circumference. Patients on placebo did not significantly lose weight or decrease size.

More Weight Loss than Any

Other Discovery in History!

In a breakthrough that may reverse today’s epidemic of obesity, a natural compound has been discovered that circumvents the molecular factors involved in obesity.

In a recent controlled study, people taking this new compound lost an average of 28 pounds in a 10-week period.  Unlike other weight-loss studies that mandate at least some moderation in food intake, these study participants did not alter their diet in any way!

There have been many drugs, hormones and supplements introduced over the years to help with weight loss, probably the most notable being Leptin.  When scientists discovered that Leptin signaled the brain to burn fat, they couldn’t have been more excited.  When given to mice, Leptin caused weight loss of 40% after only 33 days.  The problem was that Leptin did not work in Humans due to our “Leptin Resistance” keeping the Leptin from entering our cells and doing its job.

Another problem with weight-loss supplements is the “survival instincts” of the fat cells themselves.  Much like cancer cells, fat cells deploy several survival mechanisms when their existence is threatened.  No supplement, hormone, or drug has ever been able to circumvent the natural ability of fat cells to propagate and retain excess fat – until now!

Introducing Irvingia – an extract from African Mango found in Reign Fruit Infusion.

Irvingia has been shown to work via multiple pathways to promote effective fat loss.

  1. Reducing the absorption of sugar      (inhibiting a-amylase activity)
  2. Reducing glucose levels and      insulin induced lipogenesis (A.K.A reduced insulin sensitivity)
  3. Inhibiting the conversion of      glycerol to triglycerides (reducing fat cell triglycerides and the      glucose-3-phophate dehydrogenase enzyme)
  4. Reducing Leptin resistance      (reducing CRP binding to Leptin)
  5. Lowering serum Leptin levels (Leptin      unable to be used by the cells)
  6. Increasing anti-inflammatory,      anti-atherogenic, and anti-diabetic effects (increasing adiponectin      levels)

With all of these benefits working together, weight-loss was only one of the benefits of Irvingia shown in these studies.

Weight Loss Glucose Levels LDL Levels

28 pounds

Down 22%

Down 27%

Adiponectin   Levels Serum Leptin   Levels CRP Levels

Up 160%

Down 49%

Down 52%

These studies found that the dosage of Irvingia required to produce these results is 150 mg taken twice daily.

Beyond Organic’s Reign Fruit Infusion has 150 mg of this compound in each bottle. Two bottles per day are all you need to reap these rewards.

Genetically Modified Soy Linked to Sterility, Infant Mortality

You may wonder what a Russian biologist and hamsters have to do with you and your family, but after you read this, I suspect you will want to change your diet and stop eating any Genetically Engineered foods that are in almost all processed foods in the USA.

Russian biologist Alexey V. Surov discovered what could end up as the discovery of this century. Surov and his colleagues set out to discover if Monsanto’s genetically modified (GM) soy, grown on 91% of US soybean fields, leads to problems in growth or reproduction. What he discovered may uproot a multi-billion dollar industry.

After feeding hamsters for two years over three generations, those on the GM diet, and especially the group on the maximum GM soy diet, showed devastating results. By the third generation, most GM soy-fed hamsters had lost the ability to have babies. They also suffered slower growth and a high mortality rate among the pups.

And if this isn’t shocking enough, some in the third generation even had hair growing inside their mouths—a phenomenon rarely seen, but apparently more prevalent among hamsters eating GM soy.

The study, jointly conducted by Surov’s Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Association for Gene Security, is expected to be published in three months (July 2010)—so the technical details will have to wait.

“Originally, everything went smoothly. However, we noticed quite a serious effect when we selected new pairs from their cubs and continued to feed them as before. These pairs’ growth rate was slower and they reached their sexual maturity slowly.”

He selected new pairs from each group, which generated another 39 litters. There were 52 pups born to the control group and 78 to the non-GM soy group. In the GM soy group, however, only 40 pups were born and of these, 25% died. This was a five-fold higher death rate than the 5% seen among the controls. Of the hamsters that ate high GM soy content, only a single female hamster gave birth. She had 16 pups; about 20% died.

Surov said “The low numbers in F2 [third generation] showed that many animals were sterile.”

The published paper will also include measurements of organ size for the third generation animals, including testes, spleen, uterus, etc.; and if the team can raise sufficient funds, they will also analyze hormone levels in collected blood samples.

Hair Growing in the Mouth

Earlier this year, Surov co-authored a paper in Doklady Biological Sciences showing that in rare instances, hair grows inside recessed pouches in the mouths of hamsters.

“Some of these pouches contained single hairs; others, thick bundles of colorless or pigmented hairs reaching as high as the chewing surface of the teeth. Sometimes, the tooth row was surrounded with a regular brush of hair bundles on both sides. The hairs grew vertically and had sharp ends, often covered with lumps of a mucous.”

Italian scientists similarly found changes in mice testes (PDF), including damaged young sperm cells. Furthermore, the DNA of embryos from parent mice fed GM soy functioned differently.

An Austrian government study published in November 2008 showed that the more GM corn was fed to mice, the fewer the babies they had (PDF) and the smaller the babies were.

Central Iowa Farmer Jerry Rosman also had trouble with pigs and cows becoming sterile. Some of his pigs even had false pregnancies or gave birth to bags of water. After months of investigations and testing, he finally traced the problem to GM corn feed. Every time a newspaper, magazine or TV show reported Jerry’s problems, he would receive calls from more farmers complaining of livestock sterility on their farms, linked to GM corn.

Researchers at Baylor College of Medicine accidentally discovered that rats raised on corncob bedding “neither breed nor exhibit reproductive behavior.” Tests on the corn material revealed two compounds that stopped the sexual cycle in females “at concentrations approximately two-hundredfold lower than classical phytoestrogens.” One compound also curtailed male sexual behavior and both substances contributed to the growth of breast and prostate cancer cell cultures. Researchers found that the amount of the substances varied with GM corn varieties. The crushed corncob used at Baylor was likely shipped from central Iowa, near the farm of Jerry Rosman and others complaining of sterile livestock.

In Haryana, India, a team of investigating veterinarians report that buffalo consuming GM cottonseed suffer from infertility, as well as frequent abortions, premature deliveries and prolapsed uteruses. Many adult and young buffalo have also died mysteriously.

Denial, Attack and Canceled Follow-up

Scientists, who discover adverse findings from GMOs, are regularly attacked, ridiculed, denied funding and even fired. When Ermakova reported the high infant mortality among GM soy fed offspring, for example, she appealed to the scientific community to repeat and verify her preliminary results. She also sought additional funds to analyze preserved organs. Instead, she was attacked and vilified. Samples were stolen from her lab, papers were burnt on her desk, and she said that her boss, under pressure from his boss, told her to stop doing any more GMO research. No one has yet repeated Ermakova’s simple, inexpensive studies.

Opting Out of the Massive GMO Feeding Experiment

Without detailed tests, no one can pinpoint exactly what is causing the reproductive travesties in Russian hamsters and rats, Italian and Austrian mice and livestock in India and America. In addition, we can only speculate about the relationship between the introduction of genetically modified foods in 1996 and the corresponding upsurge in low birth weight babies, infertility and other problems among the US population; but many scientists, physicians and concerned citizens don’t think that the public should remain the lab animals for the biotech industry’s massive, uncontrolled experiment.

Alexey Surov says, “We have no right to use GMOs until we understand the possible adverse effects, not only to ourselves, but to future generations as well. We definitely need fully detailed studies to clarify this. Any type of contamination has to be tested before we consume it and GMO is just one of them.”

One of my biggest fears is that infant formula in the USA that is mixed with soy “milk” will make babies deformed in some way. Soy infant formula has the equivalent of 5 birth control tablets per day. We can guess what this would do to women if they took 5 birth control pills a day, but what is it doing to little girls and boys.

The following is a question, not a fact. Is soy making these kids sterile? We will find out in a few years when they get married and try to have families. Is it making the girls have bigger breasts and develop sexually at an earlier age?  Are some boys becoming homosexual because of all the estrogens?

The point is that we don’t know – so why should these kids be guinea pigs for humanity and science?

The following is a site from Jeffery Smith on how to avoid GMO foods.

Horses and People: What they have in common

This may seem like a strange topic but you will be surprised when I finish this week’s newsletter.

Judy and I have raised horses for thirty-three years. We had to put our special stallion to sleep last year because of a terminal disease at the age of twenty six. I had an old horse breeder tell me years ago that if a man or woman owned hundreds of horses you would be lucky to have one special horse. Marzan SX was that one special horse and I am sure I will never find another. It was a very sad day when I had to have the vet out to put my friend and riding companion to sleep for the last time.

Horses helped me get to where I am today. That may seem strange but I decided early on that the soil was destroyed (worn out with chemicals and no added minerals or nutrients after years of farming abuse) and our horses were not getting proper nutrition. I decided if they were to eat reasonably well I needed to find as many different feeds as I could from many locations. I bought grass hay from the local area in east Texas, alfalfa from the mid west, corn from Iowa, oats from the northern mid west, wheat bran from the mid west and molasses from south Texas and Louisiana.

Our horses did well both in working and breeding. The grain at that time was non GMO – genetically modified organisms (GE genetically engineered is also another term). We only had one mare with colic in all those years and she recovered quickly. We never had one cold in any of our horses in thirty-three years.

About two months ago, I had a patient who manages a breeding program for a large horse farm in our area. Her father had been a vet and she had scrubbed and assisted her father many times when he preformed colic surgery on horses. We had a lot in common over horses and we had a great conversation. In the conversation, I asked her if she noticed an increase in allergies in the horses that she cares for when performing and breeding. She said that they had noticed a large increase in allergies and they had been having more colic than ever before, and during the surgery, she noticed that the horses had more “trash” and undigested grain in the stomachs and intestines.

This past week I went to the feed store and they gave me a copy of a new horse magazine. I leafed through the pictures and articles and stopped and read an article from Texas A & M vet clinic. The latest problems with horses in the last few years are low fertility and sterility.

Two vets at Texas A & M have come up with a new research program investigating how to test for fertility. So, in the coming years, they will test for fertility for breeding instead of performance and conformation traits.

My question is why don’t they investigate what is causing the lower fertility and sterility?

The problem with Land Grant Colleges and Universities today is that their agriculture programs are bought and paid for by multinational seed and ag chemical corporations. These corporations pay universities lots of money to support their graduate programs and, in return, the research has to return the answers that the corporations want to bolster their sales with some credibility of a second party. If the university research gets conflicting results, the research and findings are destroyed and never published. This is what I refer to as fuzzy science and it is practiced by all types of corporations in this day and age. It is done by food and drug corporations on a routine basis.

We can only guess at the moment, but with research done by credible scientists investigating GMO or GE grains/food, they are finding that animals fed GMO foods become infertile, less fertile and with smaller testicles in a matter of weeks (not months or years). A university like   A&M is not going to cast dispersion on the corporations that help to keep their doors open to train students. Because of this, the professors are ignoring research that might tell us the cause of horse fertility issues (there has been no mention of mare (female) fertility problems.

I am suggesting that horse people should stop feeding genetically engineered grains to their horses until honest studies can be done by honest researchers who do not work or get paid by the corporation creating the products.

Besides horse feeds from the following list, we need to do the same for people food.

This list is not quite complete because new GE products are coming out almost weekly.

  • Soy products including oil – 95 % of all soy is GE
  • Corn products – 75 to 80 % of all corn is GE – oil, grain, and particularly High Fructose Corn Syrup which is not the same as cane sugar
  • Canola oil – 100 % GE
  • Cotton seed oil – 100 % GE.
  • Crooked neck squash
  • Hawaiian papaya
  • Alfalfa
  • Sugar beets (regular sugar is made from this and cane)

Now you are wondering how this affects people.

About two years ago, a report by the government came out and reported that the teenage illegitimate births were down by 25 %. The Republicans jumped on this and said that teaching abstinence in the schools was working. The Democrats said that giving out condoms in school was working. At the end of the article, it was reported that the conception rate among teenagers was down because twenty five % of our kids are sterile.

With GE products in most processed foods, it seems that we need studies to find out if the cause of infertility in teenagers and adults (there is a whole new industry that has developed in the last 25 years because of all the adults that can’t conceive)( in all fairness there have been thousands of chemicals put into processed foods in the last 30 to 40 years besides the GE products in the last 15 years) is being caused by man-made products that we may need to eliminate from our “food’ system.

As most of you know, I have said for years that we need to get back to buying local foods in season from people we know and trust and no processed foods.

Here is hoping that the horse may help us become more healthful.
